Is Your Hosting HIPAA Compliant?
Ensuring the security, privacy, and reliability of all our client’s websites are built into our services and our everyday tasks. However, the great majority of healthcare practice websites do not need to be HIPAA compliant because they don’t collect, store, or transmit Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI) on or through their site. That’s a good thing because HIPAA compliant hosting is very expensive and there are only a few webhosts that provide it.
Those that do need to collect, store, or transmit EPHI have several options. They can adjust their work and EPHI flow in order to be compliant. That’s the path we’ve chosen for our own healthcare practice. We can still do all that we need to do on our site to help our practice grow.
For those that do require HIPAA compliance, please let us know what EPHI you collect, store, or transmit and what it’s used for and we’ll work with you to find a solution or refer elsewhere if needed.
